NBC has decided to halt production on its friday night drama, Outlaw, starring Jimmy Smits. Fridays at 10 pm is not exactly prime real estate ofr any new TV show, so i can certainly see why it hasn't made much of a splash. NBC hasn't yet cancelled it though, and the show has 5 more epsisodes to air while it monitors the ratings, but things don't look good for Outlaw, or for NBC right now.
This is the first show of the 2010-2011 season to go on production hiatus, which is usually just a step from cancellation.
To make matters worse,NBC's Monday night lineup is doing pretty badly in the rating as well, a night which at one time they ruled. Chase and the Event ratings are not what NBC was expecting, and even veteran show Chuck has slipped in the ratings the past few weeks.
NBC really needs to turn things around, especially after the 2009-2010 television season.
